Cartecay River Experience offers two floating experiences.

The Adventure River Experience is not a lazy river float and contains class 1 and 2 whitewater.

The Lazy River Experience is a calm lazy river float.

The temperature of the Cartecay River tends to range between 62 and 68 degrees.

The Cartecay River fluctuates in depths ranging from knee deep to around 10 foot deep.

Adventure River Experience: The time of your experience if you are in a tube is roughly 2.5 to 3 hours. If you are in a kayak your experience will range from 1.5 to 2 hours.

Lazy River Experience: The time of your experience if you are in a tube is roughly 1 hour to 1.5 hours.

NO both sides of the Cartecay River are privately owned. Thus you will need to remain in your tube or kayak and continue floating the river the entire time of your experience.

The Cartecay Adventure River Experience is approximately 3 miles long.

The Cartecay Lazy River Experience is approximately 1.5 miles long.

At Cartecay River Experience we HIGHLY recommend the push sticks. Push sticks can be rented for $3 or purchased for $5.

Cartecay River Experience operates on a first come, first serve basis. We do not take reservations or advance bookings.

The Cartecay River Experience recommends you not take any belongings with you on the river. Lock your belongings in your vehicle (jewelry, cell phones, etc.) and hang your keys in our designated key area.

If it starts to rain during your experience you must keep floating! There is only one take out you must reach it in order to exit the river. Both sides of the Cartecay River are privately owned. Thus you will need to remain in your tube or kayak and continue floating the river the entire time of your experience.

The Cartecay River Experience take outs are clearly designated. It is important that guests exit the river at the take out. On the Adventure River Experience if you miss the take out the next take out is roughly 6 to 8 hours away.

Cartecay River Experience encourages everyone to plan accordingly by eating first and hydrating well!

County Ordinance prohibits coolers from being allowed on the river. Guests can carry one 32oz non-alcoholic beverage with them during their float. IF YOU NEED TO BRING A SMALL SNACK or BEVERAGE ON THE RIVER YOU MAY USE A SMALL DRY BAG ONLY! No Exceptions! YOUR DRY BAG MUST FIT SECURELY ON YOUR KAYAK OR IN YOUR TUBE WITH YOU. Dry Bags are available for purchase if needed.

ABSOLUTELY NO COOLERS! Please DON'T ASK! This is not a rule made by Cartecay River Experience but a County Ordinance. YOU MUST BRING TRASH AND BELONGINGS OFF THE RIVER WITH YOU. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please help keep our river clean! If you bring a snack or drink please make sure to contain all trash in your small dry bag.

Guests are responsible for their rented equipment. Be sure to bring your tube or kayak out of the river with you. You will be charged for any lost equipment.
